Job Description:

The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver and an experienced Mobile Networking Technologies professional with a strong grasp/background of IP routing and switching. Expert knowledge of Service Provider (Tier 1 players in US/Canada) Network Architecture and Operations Best Practices is a plus. The candidate shall be responsible for delivering technical lifecycle service including Planning, Designing and Implementing, Supporting and Optimizing Cisco’s Service Provider Mobile Wireless Solution related to IP messaging with an emphasis on redundancy, geo-diversity, service availability and scalability.

 

Responsibilities:

Validate customer requirements with Sales, Engineering and Operations Teams.

Planning and design will include working directly with customer, account teams and business units to build Customer Requirements Documents (CRDs) and low level designs (LLDs).

Implementation services will include on-site and remote support, configuration, network connectivity and testing of services, Network Ready for Use (NRFU)/Acceptance, and Customer and Partner training and workshops.

Provide lifecycle services for different types of engagements including Proof-of Concept, Early Field Trials, Pre-sales Trials and large scale deployments

Supports customers in the certification and deployment of Wireless Telecommunication Systems:

Develop Lab Engineering Plans

Create/Customize NRFU/Acceptance Test Plans and Site Requirements Specifications.

Front-end the Acceptance Test Plan execution, log findings and interface with R&D to get any issues resolved.

Participate in production deployment planning, installation and integration.

Drive launch activities; Work with the extended Cisco operations team to ensure successful launch; handoff to the customer.

Provide ongoing support to the customer through upgrades, patches, expansions and new deployments.

Requirements:

  • BSEE or equivalent experience with over 5 years supporting Wireless Application Testing and deployment. Experience with multi-vendor solutions in a Service Provider Environment (Mobile Solutions) is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. Strong interpersonal and team work skills required.
  • CCNA/CCNP would be a big plus.
  • Expertise in the following areas is required:
  • Unix/Linux, with Shell Scripting
  • MySQL/SQL
  • Operational Knowledge (Capture/Analyze traces (ethereal)) of the following protocols/architectures is highly desired:
  • IP Routing and Switching (OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, HSRP, VLANs/Dot1Q/SVIs, IPv4, IPv6, HTTP(s))
  • MMS/SMS (SMPP)
  • LDAP
  • SS7/SS7oIP (SIGTRAN/SUA/SCTP)/DTAP/MAP/ISUP
  • GSM - CS and PS domains
  • LTE/EPC Core
  • IMS Core (SIP, MSRP)
  • DIAMETER would be a plus.
  • Network/Element Management Systems – SNMP, MIBS, Traps/Alarms
